- Note
- Handleiding voor het ordenen en beschrijven van archieven or simply known as the Dutch Manual has never been completely and/ or officially translated into Indonesian but the influence remains subtle. Schellenberg names the Manual as the holy bible for the archivist. Duchein, Cook and Ridener are among others consider the Manual utmost important to understand archival science from its practical perspective without losing its theoretical one. It is interesting to know the influence with or without its Indonesian translation. The thesis is the first scholarly attempt to reintroduce to reintroduce the main rules of the Manual to Indonesian archivists. The Indonesian translation of the Manual as provided in the thesis is intended to help the Indonesian readers understand its 100 rules as much as to their historical context.
