Abstract: This thesis examines the distinction of two translation methods, foreignisation and domestication, introduced by Friedrich Schleiermacher, applied to two types of expressive language in Roald Dahl's "The BFG:" names and neologisms. The thesis examines whether a translator really chooses either method over the other, or if it is more complicated than that.
