Abstract: Over the past few years there has been an increase of the development and testing of nuclear weapons by the North Korean government. This exposure of a certain threat, as well as the message and behaviour North Korea with this shows, has made headlines in the various news media of the Western world. North Korea’s growing isolation due to its behaviour and foreign politics, as well as its continuous nuclear threats appear in worldwide media, thus spreading fear of the country. This fear became the centre of a renewed wave of yellow peril through entertainment media. In this BA thesis I focused particularly on the portrayal of North Korean antagonism in Hollywood movies, by analysing the film narratives of ´Olympus has Fallen´ and ´Red Dawn´.
